can't open pde files in windows

I have this problem since i installed windows 7.

If i double click a pde file then it says windows can't open this file.

Then i can choose the websurvice or choose a program my self.

Afcource i do the latest option.

I get a venster called "open with"

If i then browse to processing, click ok. Then i go back to the "open with" window, and normally the application selected get's added there. However my windows does not.

Also the option in processing preferences to associate processing with pde files has no effect.

does anyone have a solution?

I chose to select a program from the file system, located Processing's .exe file, and selected it... works like a charm, now.

i go to a pde in explorer do right mouse open:

Then i get this where i choose to select a program myself:

Here i choose browse:

I locate processing and press open:

Then i'm here again, normally a program should be added here and then i can press ok.

But processing did not apear here... (lol, why didn't i use the previous image to illustrate :) )

I did the same thing for opening mtl files and obj files with textedit and that worked fine.

Very strange. Can you try with a different version of Processing? A different file? Perhaps your operating system, are you using XP?

Try moving the Processing folder to the 'Program Files' folder rather than the (x86) one. I've had this happen before, I think it depends on the bit (64/32) of your computer.

moving it didn't help.

Also checked registery keys etc. but looked all fine.

i used this app to fix it.

(works under windows 7, althought it doesn't mention it).
