Random walkers recreating photograph

200 small walkers randomly recreating a photograph (in a certain style) by picking up the color information from the original photograph. In this case a sculpture made by Franz Xaver Messerschmidt in the 18th century.

Getting color from an image in the buffer ... ? Is that possible or how could I do sth similar?

Hi,

I'd like to copy my original image in a buffer or something similar and then have a walker reference the x and y of that 'copied' image for its color instead of it's own x and y. I tried to load an image to (width,0) but then all I get is black when I use something like 'x+width'. I guess because it's offscreen?

The thing is that I want the original image not to be changed so that the referenced color information won't be changed either.

So how would I do that?

Saving frames slows down the program?

I've included saveFrame() into my sketch in order to create an animated GIF from it. But that a. greatly slows down the sketch and b. results in an equally slow animated GIF. Is that normal ... ? Or how can this be avoided?

Exporting as animated GIF > ugly!?

Hi,

I've exported my sketch as an animated GIF using the code example from this site: https://gist.github.com/jordanorelli/4992290

But this has resulted in quite an ugly sketch ... the ellipses have strokes although the code contains noStroke() and it also seems like the anti-aliasing is off? Here's the animated GIF: http://i39.tinypic.com/21kcged.jpg

Ok, noob here:

So I've initialized an array with the start of the Fibonacci series. Now I'd like to display on a grid representing the numbers 0 to n. I tried to create a function checkFibo() that iterates though the array and check my counter variable against it and return a True or False but it does not work ...

Why do my diagonal lines look so weird and bold here? How could I have Processing draw really fine diagonal lines?
