Newbie question: Moving canvas.

Hello all.
I'm working on a really simple project, where I need to do a simple drawing program (see 2x simple!
). The drawing bit is under control.
So the idea is like on a Richter scale, you should be able to draw on a moving piece of paper (the canvas).
The question is now, how do I get my canvas to move? Just a smooth slow movement from right to left should suffice.
I hope one of you can help me.
I am really new to processing, so please be gentle.
