Cannot get any display on terminal window for I2C temp sensor

Following
this tutorial
for the I2C temperature sensor, I cannot get anything to display on the Processing Terminal window (besides a black background). I am using a mac.
I get a black background, but no digits:

I think the problem is my serial port. But the arduino blinks when I click run. Here are some pics:

I have tried different variations of "usbmodem411" including the backslash parts, but still couldn't get the temps to display.
