outline of a blob

hello
i would like to draw outline of a blob as this video

i tried to determined the maximum externe outline but that daoesnt really work
i test the distance between centroid of blob and edge
if his value passe by a maximu, i stoke in a array

my ps3 eye should works at 640*480 with the jmyron libraray,
but that look as that ->
i use the v3.0. alexp driver

i m looking for a software sequencer wich should read video, send dmx and read processing sketch

on mac by exemple but it can't read processing, just quartz composer
should i code everything by myself ?
