We are now accepting proposals for GSOC 2013! This is a "full-time" position for this summer with a $5,000 stipend. Only students are eligible. From
google's FAQ: "
As long as you are accepted into or enrolled in a college or university program as of May 27, 2013, you are eligible to participate in the program"
If you have an idea for a proposal, please discuss with the community by posting in the
GSOC 2013 forum category. For ideas about what to submit, take a look at our
Project List Wiki.
I self-published the book and would appreciate all shares, tweets, etc. If you have a moment to write a review on Amazon that would be great too. Finally, I'm trying to keep up with where the book is listed and available online so as you find it places, please share with me!
And if you order a print copy, please check the quality against this page:
I am very close to my new Processing book (
http://natureofcode.com) being available to purchase in print. Because the book was funded via Kickstarter I have to fulfill about 800 pre-orders of the book. To do this, I have to individually hand enter each address into CreateSpace's online book ordering system. I am looking for help with this asap. It's probably a horribly menial and boring job but I would be forever grateful. Will pay an hourly rate plus offer a few free copies of the text.
I'm still a couple weeks away from a finished version of the book (which will be sold via amazon), but I've "soft-launched" my site to allow for advance PDF purchasing. Not to mention the book draft is all online for free.
I noticed I'm no longer getting e-mail notifications for topics or forums I am following. Does anyone know how to make sure I have this turned on properly?
We're looking for help in developing libraries and tools so if you have an idea, feel free to make a post on this forum (and message me so I make sure to follow it!)
I've asked interested applicants to post questions here under "Library and Tool Development" so there may be some new threads popping up related to GSOC applications. I'll be checking in and trying to respond to any posts, but feel free to e-mail me directly with questions as well.
Just curious if anyone out there is also spending their leisure time running Processing Android on a tablet. I've got it going on a Xoom at the moment. . . am investigating if I can get it to take over the entire screen, as opposed to the little window (lovely as it may be) that I've got at the moment.
