I have been excited about libpd since its inception and always been wanted to use it along with Processing to make cool soundtoys/interactive apps for Android. I didn't get as far as to do it, but I have been playing around with Eclipse compiling some libpd and also some Processing sketches for Android. I think with a better workflow (ie exporting sketches with libpd made as easy as it is now to export sketches to Android) we could get a whole range of exciting applications created with this.
I will spend to next days refining the proposal, but basically the idea is the following:
I want to develop a tool for PDE that facilitates the workflow of creating applications using Processing and pure data and exporting them as java applications or directly to an Android device. This means the tool must provide a workflow for prototyping on the computer and to export to Android to test it.
I have a background in computer science and now studying cognitive systems and interactive media. I am very excited about this and will work my ass off on this, because I need it to create some cool interactive toys, and because the idea of contributing to Processing sounds wonderful!
The puredatap5 library for processing is almost ready, but it needs a Windows build and is still buggy. Android export shouldn't be a problem but is not yet functional. I am trying to get feedback on experiences/guidelines there:
