Hello, I'm running Windows 8 (alas!) and Processing 2.0.3, with Android Mode seemingly installed okay (went through the adb business etc). Turned on Debugging on the phone, which is a Huawei P2-6011 with Android 4.1.2, and the option to allow unsigned apps. When I try to run a sketch from Android Mode it says 'Waiting for device to become available' for a long time, then eventually 'Lost connection with device while launching.'

I've recently acquired an old Dell Inspiron 510m, and I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on it. The sound card, which is working fine with everything else I've tried, is one of these, according to lspci:

The Minim examples, and the sound sketches I'd been working on on another machine, don't produce any sound, or error messages. Any suggestions what I should be looking for to fix this?

I'm not sure if this is a Programming Question exactly - it's possible it should be a bug report (edit: it is also that now), or a Contributed Library question - but I figured I should probably post here first in case anyone has any leads. 

What might cause an applet to perform really abysmally in the browser - maybe 2fps, on my machine - although it goes at a fair old clip when I run it from the IDE? Here's the applet in question.

I've made a sort of interactive fretboard applet, and I'm thinking it could be nice to add some sound to it. Ideally I'd like to play a sample of an actual guitar (or other) string, six times over, each one at a different pitch. I guess I could just make 36 different samples, one for each of the different pitches I've included, but that would be silly. Does Minim include the ability to play clips pitch-shifted, or at least speeded up? It seems like such an obvious thing but I've been staring at the examples and documentation for at least half an hour without seeing anything like a way...

The emulator is so slow as to be almost totally pointless on my computer, which seems to be a very common experience... takes ages to load, and then once it finally does it goes at maybe a fiftieth of the speed of my phone, hence it gives me very little idea what the thing's going to be like in practice.

And yet it's the default action when I press the 'play' button or Ctrl+r - which is of course what I've been conditioned to do when I want to test out my sketches, by years of using Processing. Not only that, but once I absent-mindedly press that button - which I still do even after a few weeks of doing Android - pressing 'Stop' doesn't interrupt the process; there seems to be no way to halt the juggernaut, I just need to wait and wait for this useless emulator window to appear and then close it when it does.

Sorry, I realise this is a moany post, I've got a headache. Is there any chance we could have an option to just disable the emulator, at least while my phone is attached? Or a Stop button that stops it loading after I accidentally tell it to? I would be deeply grateful.

I've written a sketch that uses a FFT to find the peak frequency from a microphone input. It looks nice, but I'm having trouble finely distinguishing pitches in the frequency range where music and speech are usually packed. I'm aware of the rudiments of digital signal processing, but it's not obvious to me what settings would be best for this. 

Hi, I can record sound okay using other apps, but when I run the minim.getLineIn example it shows almost but not quite a flat line. If I add a println(in.left.get(0)); at the end of the drawing loop I get values in this sort of range:

There are no error messages when I try to read inputs from my arduino Uno board, but there's no sign of any input, either! I've connected a series of sliders, buttons and switches to my board in what I believe is exactly the same configuration I used with a previous board. I've uploaded the StandardFirmata arduino sketch to both of the ports that only appear in my list from println(Arduino.list()); although it throws me that they are listed as

I've just downloaded the latest version of the Android SDK, but when I go to switch to Android mode and get the 'Choose the location of the Android SDK' dialogue up, it won't let me select anything! Apparently android-sdk-mac_x86 'does not appear to contain an Android SDK', and neither do any of its sub-folders. Obviously I'm missing something - seemingly something that's not covered in the wiki?

I'm doing stuff with xml, pulling it from a web site which sometimes takes its time to respond. As a result, I frequently get 

Hi, if I copy the XMLElement example from the Processing reference and make the sites.xml file as requested, Processing bugs out with 'The function getInt(String) does not exist', or if I comment out the getInt line, 'The function getString(String) does not exist'. getContent works okay though, and if I only do that I can successfully retrieve the list of sites from the xml file.

I'm using Processing 1.2.1 in Linux Mint 9 Isadora, Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02).
