This is my first time on the forums. I searched on here for a solution, but haven't found one yet. I'm on OSX 10.6.8 running Processing 1.5.1. It takes a full minute or longer for the Processing App to open when launched. I have also found web pages running Java applets to open slow....so maybe this is a Java problem. Plus after a while of being open, the Processing app won't even run any code, so i need to reopen the app.
From searches on this forum I have tried removing just my "tools" folder, removing the "Processing" labeled sketch folder, i've deleted my prefs file, have reinstall Java again, installed Processing again, repaired permissions, used DiskWarrior, etc.
It seems that maybe Java is all screwed up on my computer. Pretty sure i'm running version 1.6. Is there a way to wipe clean Java then reinstall?
Really appreciate any help. I'm in the middle of learning Processing but now have a really hard time working with it. I'm thinking of soon wiping my system clean and doing a full reinstall up to 10.7. But that might be a while (b/c of time) so i'd rather just fix things now.
