creating a gradient mesh

What would be the best way to create a color gradient mesh. I have an array of xy coordinates each one is associated with a different color. i want to create a smooth color transition between each point. and apply the gradient as the fill to a shape. I have looked at a few different libraries and examples, but I cant find anything that does this, or maybe I cant figure out how to adapt it to do what I want. Any help is appreciated. thank you!

using geomerativ to get the area of a shape

hi, I have a series of shapes and a series of ellipses placed at floats newLong, newLat. I want to test to see if an ellipse is overlapping any shape and then if it is, place it at a random location on that shape. To do this i am using the geomerative library to get every point contained in the area of a of a shape, and put those points into an array of points, so i can then select a random place in the array and place an ellipse at that point. This seems like it would work but when I run it the program freezes. There are no errors in the console. Is this just to much information to store? is there a geomerative method that gets every point in the area of a shape for you?

Array of XMLElements NPE error

Hi, I'm trying to take locations from a New york times XML document and use them to find latitude and longitude points using a yahoo placefinder api. I extracted the locations from articles and then fed them into an array of strings, each one a URI link to a different placefinder XML doc and then I tried to create an an array of XMLElements from the array of URI's (news[j].joinedAPI refers to the array of URI links):

XMLElement[] location;
location= new XMLElement[totalItems];
for (int j = 0; j < news.length; j ++ ) {
    location[j] = new XMLElement(this, news[j].joinedAPI );
    XMLElement coordinates = location[j].getChild(5);

But I'm getting a nullPointerException on this line: location[j] = new XMLElement(this, news[j].joinedAPI );

What am i doing wrong?

I'm trying to use the google maps API in my processing application. I thought this might be possible using the the netscape.javascript core library but I've never used this library and I'm not familiar with javascript. I don't understand where to place the javascript code within my processing code or how to introduce it.

Has anyone already done something similar and have a code example you could send me? Thank you!!

creating a server and a client

Hi,
I'm trying to use the processing.net library to create a server and a client. I then want to run the client on the web and allow multiple clients from to connect to the server from separate devices and therefore communicate with each other. This is working fine when two clients are both run from the same computer as the server but when I to exported it and put it on the web it doesn't work. www.liatwerber.com/chat the client doesnt communicate with the server. Do I need to change something to make it work on the web, besides the IP address which i changed. THANK YOU

deploying sketch to web

I just finished writing my code and tried to put it on the web here: www.liatwerber.com/newsite

but it seems to get stuck in setup or something. the code uses OpenGL and Minim and it includes an array of 39 images all under 700 kb and and 3 .wav files. I'm not sure what the problem is. Thanks for the help!

problem doing simple division

I cant figure out why the division sign just isnt working. The println shows that the values im dividing are equal 3 and 9 or 4 and 10 but the resulting value is always 0. I'm trying to map a percentage to the gain of an audio player but i cant get the division function to work

problem with constraint inside a constructor

I have an array of Stamp objects and each time the mouse is clicked a new Stamp object is added to the array. I have mouseX and mouseY positions as arguments for the constructor so that the new object is created where ever the mouse is. I also have a void mouseDragged function setup so that when SHIFT is pressed and the mouse is dragged the user can translate the origin left and and right. To account for this the object also takes moveX and moveY (variables I created to store the current origin coordinates) as arguments, which are subtracted from the mouseX and mouseY coordinates. This was working fine until I tried to constrain the x and y position a circular area of the page. Now when the origin is translated the constraint is keeping the object constrained to the same circular area.

Is there a problem with using a constraint inside a constructor?

Here is the code for the constructor (tempX and tempY are the mouseX and Y position at the time of the stamp objects creation and and temp_moveX and temp_moveY are the coordinates of the origin at the time of the stamps creation) :

rotating globe problem

i'm trying to create a 3d stamping program where stamp objects rotate around a globe according to where ever you originally stamped them. the globe rotates if you hold tab and drag and moves if you hold shift or alt and drag. I got the stamps to move along with the globe, but i cant get them to rotate properly. they seem to all be rotating at different angles. This is my code:

Parsing SVG shapes

I am trying to parse an svg shape that i created in illustrator using loadShape, and then get.Child. I want to be able to change the colors of the shapes with in the program. Bu I dont understand how to name a shape. As far as I know, my shapes don't have names for me to call out to get the child. What if there's only one shape in the file and i just want to get that one. i think i am missing a key piece of information.

this is the example they give:

Hi,
Im learning processing I'm still a beginner but I want to use processing to create a game that will allow players to sign in. once they are signed in I want them to be able to create and view content that will only be viewable by them and the players they have identified as their friends. In other words I want to create a multiplayer game where you are only playing with people you know. Is this possible using processing? if not exactly this, is something like this possible?
