When I export an application (OS X) I need to place the 'data' folder on the same level as the application icon to run it. Is there a way to have it hidden inside the application's package contents?

I understand from other posts it should be included in the jar file, but it doesn't seem to do this.

I have program that reads text (txt file), and for each line it accesses text-to-speech in mac os x. It then reads the line and delays to wait for the sentence to finish reading; otherwise, it overlaps itself and becomes noise.

THE PROBLEM: while waiting for the delay to complete, it doesn't access draw(), so it can't update the screen with any information. Its just grey.

I think I need to use a separate thread, but have no idea how to go  about it. Also, I don't know if this is a problem that can be solved. The code is in multiple classes, so I won't post it for now.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I'm suddenly against a very frustrating wall.

Anyone have a suggestion regarding resources for learning to develop oop object charts, or flow charts for a program (not sure what the technical name would be).

I've been working with my own idiosyncratic methods for some time, and without taking CS classes in the past, I'm wondering if I might learn a few better techniques.

Followed the information here to get it to work. I needed to add the 'core.jar' library to my build before exporting the edited jar file.

I'm looking to edit a jar file included with a third party library. I believe I need to add the file as part of a new project in an IDE like eclipse. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I might look for a quick tutorial on this process?

I simply want to edit a few things regarding display in the library...

I have been working with a program that parses an online thesaurus through its API to make adjustments in a text. I need to make a large amount of requests now that the program functions. These will exceed the daily API limitations, so I need to come up with an alternative source.

Does anyone have a suggestion? Maybe a database that can be accessed locally... any ideas will help! Thank you in advance.

I am trying to break apart a text into individual words, change them to alternatives, and then rewrite to a new file. I have no trouble breaking the text up using splitTokens() with delimiters to accomplish this.

The difficulty is in rewriting the text with those same delimiters in the appropriate locations (puntuation, whites spaces...).

Is there an example or function that will help me remap all of the appropriate formatting back into a txt file once I've made the changes?

Here is a basic example from 'Learning processing' (The code I'm using is bit long, and runs through other things not necessary here):

essentially, I'd like to change individual words (unaware of what they are, so I can't search for particular strings) and retain the formatting.
