Communicating between 2 serial com ports

Hi, may I know is it possible that I connect two serial com ports to the same PC eg: COM1 and COM2, and to tell them to communicate with each other.
Eg:
Input signal -> COM1 (write signal to COM2) -> COM2(read signal from COM1) -> Output action.
Not necessary has to be on Processing, can be through any other serial terminals.
