I have been using Processing in the past for fun projects, and I think it may be interesting to implement my own idea.
In brief, my project proposal is the
development of an open source search and visualization tool based on graphs for scientific publications, whose aim is to make it easier, faster and more fun to browse the scientific literature (and yes, I'm a PhD student that has to deal with browsing scientific articles on a daily basis). I want to implement a citation retrieval system that would stream in real-time citation links from the Internet, and Processing would be a very cool visualization tool to allow the user to interactively investigate the data in forms of a citation graph.
I would like to hear if there is interest in this project in the context of GSoC?
