I have got my Ultrasonic transceiver Maxbotix LV-EZ1, and the datasheet says that :

Ok the thing is that i want to convert the ascii in to some readeable in processing, lets say that i want to pressent the sent value(0-255) in the processing window.... How do i receive and convert the ascii from my Arduino(LV-EZ1) in processing??

I have my arduino uno that transmit ( Serial.println) every 100ms. The i have my processing program where i want to

readout the serial value in a line lenght. When i add the convesion from string to float (line) in the program i get a

NullPointerException. The serial communication when works fine if i just text("" + inString,10,50) but what

i add float a = float(inString); i got this NullPointer.......thing... why????

Is it possible to count to 1000(millisec) and reset to 0, then count to 1000 again, and so on over and over..???

This program draws a line from left to right. How do i get the program to do it over and over again???

I mean when line reach right side it clears the line, and starts to draw the line for left to right again???

How do i divide  the serial A/D value from arduino (0-1024) that and present it in the processing window instead of the actual A/D value???? can any add the magic touch to the serialEvent code below....

I have got the simple analog to serial arduino program down to the arduino, and it transmit data ( checked via terminal).

Ok then i have got the serielEvent example from prossing site. Then run the program, and the window opens and

i see " received : 432. But the value 432 is just a A/D value (0- 1024). I have the a resistor and a ptc coupled up to

the analog input of the arduino.

 The actual room temperature is lets say 20 degrees.

How do i recalculate the value 432 to a read of 20 degrees. I know ofcouse that the hole ideer depends of that my resistor and ptc is linear. Can i add some calculations til the inString line or???, i have not 

found any examples like this... How would it look, i got errors when i try to add or divide with inString....
