Quarks Applet Maker : signing doesn't allow reading client files

Hi,
I am trying to read some files located on the client side (in case of an Applet) by using the loadStrings() function.
However, even when signing the applet using the Quarks Applet Maker and Signer, it doesn't work.
I guess I have a SecurityException (but I forgot how to see them in Firefox).
Any ideas?
