We are approaching a new project that
appears to be beyond our own experience. Please bare with me while I
try to explain our needs.
We need a basic operator interface (pc based?) to upload bitmap images
and coordinate physical outputs (I/O) with feedback provided by a CNC
type machine.
In other words, the CNC machine will run a grid pattern over a flat
bed. We will provide absolute positioning data to a PC. Your
programming will read these values, compare the values to the loaded
bitmap image and turn off/on hard 24VDC outputs as the position
coordinates match points within the bitmap.
View this as a type of crude printer. The 24VDC outputs will energize
five independent heads that will jet ink onto the flat bed surface. The
heads represent a CMYK+Wht (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black and White)
color scheme. Each color will have a bitmap (having been previously
color separated into individual bitmaps) loaded to your software.
We are not seeking extreme speeds typical to large format printers, but
are quite fast when compared to traditional CNC operations.
This is the method we are currently pursuing, but will gladly listen to
other approaches. Thank you. We look forward to your response.
