Can you tell me if it is possible to make your own custom hand gesture using kinect or opencv or anything ?

I am newbie and using processing fro the first time. I was running the frame difference code and tried to tweak it into a motion detection application. My question is how to make it see no motion instead of motion of a particular thing.
