Serial port 'Error inside Serial.ports() in exported' - Solution
[0 Replies]

Forum:
Integration and Hardware
Hi - Struck the "Error inside Serial.ports()" when running a jar exported from Eclipse on Windows.
This post has the problem too:
http://processing.org/discourse/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1251731980
- My fault was, that rxtxserial.dll was missing from windows\system32
(see how to install here
http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Interfacing/Java
)
But since rxtxserial.dll was included in my Eclipse project, running in Eclipse didn't produce the error.
Wish I could post the solution to the old forum, that would have helped me a lot..
Kind regards
Christian
Making easy UIs for Processing with SWT in Eclipse

I needed some easy-to-work with UI elements for a Processing sketch. Combo boxes, buttons and such.
The UI libraries for Processing I found fairly hard to work with, and not too smooth.
So, using SWT (Standard Widget Toolkit) through Java seemed like a much better choice.
I have put together a small guide on how to fuse Processing and SWT in Eclipse:

Hope it is usable :-)
Kind regards
