I will start teaching an introductory programming course (high-school level) using Processing in mid-September. I'd love to use Processing 2.0 to show the students how dead easy it is to develop an Android app or a browser game using Android and JavaScript modes, respectively. I haven't used the 2.0 alphas extensively myself yet, though. Do you people think it's stable enough in its current form (I just downloaded alpha9) to use in the classroom or would you recommend staying with 1.5?
Hi,
I've been programming all my life (among others in Java, Python, now Clojure), but have never dabbled in graphics yet. So I'm looking for a book with an emphasis on the "artistic" side, inspiring examples etc, not so much on general programming concepts. Which one would you recommend? Also: Some of the books seem to be published before V1.0 was released, e.g. Reas/Fry 2007. Is this a problem?
