I used to spend a lot of time struggling with PSD files passed by designers, find the right layers/group, merge them, select all, copy, create new, paste and finally save for web. It's very time consuming if there are a lot of icons or buttons to extract.
Recently I finally got fed up with this and thought of a solution to solve this. Element Extractor uses blob detection to find out individual elements and export them one by one into image files automatically.
