[Game] - Yelele Shoot 1.0

YELELE SHOOT

(Version 1.0)

Version 1.0 is released with some stuff added (some in response to beta testing) :

- Menu choice with Joypads if configured

- 2 players game

- More fire option

- Bomb option

- More enemy

- Score online

Download 2 players with controllers offline 1.0 version

Play one player with mouse online 1.0 version

Now with the new board and the html options you can present it much better :)
Its still Joypad only, right?

Yes, the next beta with two players will still be playable with joypad only.

Note : the two players version can be tested with only one joypad, playing with two ships.

But when we release the final version, we will release an online one with mouse control, but only one player mode.

Rectification : the next release will finally done online with mouse control

I have already done this special limited version for online playing but i must create a special level for this kind of controller (it's more hard with mouse control).

So :

- in a couple of day, an online version will be released (with all options and improvement of the 0.9 version)

- in a couple of week, an offline version will be released with joypad controllers and two players mode (offline version 0.9)

(=> for each one, the unique thing to do before release it's game design...)

... and you can still download the 0.5 version and make some suggestions to improve the game.

Very nice! J'aime la version bilingue... (I like the bilingual version).
Very professional in look and feel: the spaceship is highly maneuverable.
I find the double-click not working every time, unless there are some restrictions in its use. Ah, the dots below the score are the bomb number, right?

Thanks for your (pleasant) response. (Vous parlez français alors <|;-)

For the double click : you can't chain bomb (there is a little time before each one) and you'll have to double click with a certain speed (bombs are important so we don't want to loose some for nothing).

For the dots, you're right : 5 dots for 5 bombs on start up.

I tested Yelele Shoot Online

A) on Vista with IE9 : it works

B) on Ubuntu 10.10 with FireFox : it works ... but :

- you have to install Sun java Plugin instead of OpenJdk's one

- you have to make a fix for java sound problem in this linux distribution (in the console) :

sudo cp /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/i386/libpulse-java.so /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/lib/i386/

sudo cp /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/ext/pulse-java.jar /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/lib/ext/

I still waiting for feedbacks or comments.

(i can't test it on OSX ... if someone can tell me if it works)

It's working on OS X (Firefox). However, I did not really play very long. I will wait for the offline version instead.

@Andreas : Thanks for testing ... so it works on OS X too

For the two players with joypad controll offline version, i have two choice : put it online with quite the same level as the online version or making a new one... I'll put it online as soon as possible.

@harrison perry : i'm thinking about how implement a leader board (actually i'm thinking about php file with parameters for writing on a server file, and a processing applet with generated parameters for watching : if someone have a better idea tell me more about it) => i'll put it online soon

Other comments or feedbacks about our game online are still welcome.

very nice! are you including a leader-board?

A leader board is now included on a page online with a special thing : you can upload your score and your name ... and your personal link to everywhere (your name become a link in the leaderboard !).

100 lines for the moment : try to be the first and enjoy !

OK, I am exactly 2 months late with this: I played the offline version a number of times now and it's really cool. The game play is more diverse and also better tuned, I think. The two-player option makes it much more fun. Again, I am impressed in how well you recreated the look and feel of early arcade games!

Two small glitches:

the calibration of the second game controller does not seem to get saved. I always have to redo it upon start.
in two player mode I once managed to die without being completly gone: the ships disappeared but the game (and the enemies) still thought they were there. So, this way I managed to see the `big boss' without being able to play that far. Actually you should add something like that as a feature, maybe.

Anyway, it runs very fast and without any problem on my Macbook.

Your feedbacks are still welcome and it's a great pleasure to read you like my game.

The second game controller calibration was not implemented (!) so it wasn't work at all : i put online, at the same place, a new version (still marked with 1.0 version <[-) with this buf fix. Thank you.

For the second glitch, as you notice, it was an original glitch that i've fixed. It's not really easy to put it back.

Anyway, have you played to the online version, with mouse controll ?

I downloaded the latest version. The calibration seems to work but the 'you die and the game plays on' bug is still happening (quite often in fact).

I have also tried the online version now. Works fine but feels not as snappy as the offline version. Anyway, now that I bought my two Xbox controllers I will go on playing the application version.

Can you tell me more about the bug :

1) in one or two player mode ?

2) when the first player (green one) die before ?

3) in which part of the game ?

...

I do not reproduce it. I read the code again and all seems to be ok... So your feedbacks about it are welcome.

Since the newest version of OSX you need to activate Java to run it,

but your site shows to install the plug-in.

So basically you force the user to download java twice :)

But elsewise its running smoothly.

Works on every browser i have for mac (Safari,Chrome,Firefox) ^^

Btw great game :)
