Hi there

I know this might be a bit of an easy solution but i can't figure it out myself.

I've been trying to edit the Hashmap code so that i can count specific words and put them and then see which string has the most amount of words in it.

Does anyone have any idea on how to do this? I've been trying all day and can't seem to get anywhere with it.

If you search word count or hashmap in the old forum, you will see lot of similar threads...
For example: Hash Map: Increase one value by 1

I've had a look through that link you sent and where as i can do the word count what I'm trying to do is put words from a loaded file and separate each word into a certain amount of strings. for example parse through a text and categorize each word into a string for positive words and one for negative words and then count the number of words in each string.

Any help is much appreciated

Well, follow my advice and do the suggested search.
Most of the texts you can analyze should fit in memory, so you can use loadStrings to read the file and use split() on each line to get the words.
If you need something finer or less memory intensive (tokenizing on the fly), you can ask.
Last hint: I think that searching RiTA in the old forum can be helpful too if you try to do text analysis (I can't help on RiTA, but I vaguely know it is about that...).

I'm still really struggling with this.

I've tried searching the old forum but i can't get anywhere with it. Is it possible for someone to steer me in the right direction with this?

Have a look at the code below, mostly at the function checkWord. For testing purposes, file test.txt consisted only from the 4 words in good and bad tables. Hope this helps.
