Seem to have an issue in that i cannot get 094 working in Android mode with my HTC Desire and the SDK.

I have WIN 7 (64)

Processing 094

HTC Desire

SDK Platform versions 3.0 and all below down to 1.5

SDK Platform tools revision 3

SDK Tools revision 10

USB Driver v10

Dont know whether it helps for info wise but ive got on my computer the APPInventor which i have been using since beta and this works on my phone no problem. I have to pick HTC Sync mode and then when its finished doing its sync it then connects to APP Inventor and launches my sketch on my phone.. no problem. Ive been doing this for a while now and only just got around to installing this version of processing. (Ive been using processing for about 3 years now)

Could there be a conflict because of this ?

I cannot even get the emulator to work from Processing but if i start the SDK Manager from the computer and browse to the Virtual Devices and click Start..Launch then it does open the Emulator.

Any help much appreciated please.

Can you start the Emulator from opening the SDK Manager in Processing?

What are your Virtual Devices called ?

I can start the emulator from within Processing by clicking Android SDK and AVD Manager and then Virtual device, then Start then Launch.

Its just called Test2

Emulator Window says 5554:test2

Emulator works and can click on it etc.

Try editing the name of it to "Processing-Android-7" ... but I am on Revision 7, so maybe you should use 3 ?.. (why are you still on 3 ?)

Um im on Revision3 because when i press update all i get nothing new to download ? Do i have the correct install.

yeah, Im sorry, I always get mixed up with how Google names their Android SDK's etc. I have the same packages as you.

But try to rename your virtual device... maybe just "Processing-Android" ???

Afraid not - and def not on my HTC Desire - i know the driver is right cos its up to date when i attempt to update it

It just sits there saying starting build with animation happening where the arrow is pointing to. I dont get an message or error in the console. Even after like an hour it still sits doing this.

Its the same regardless of even just the test code of like a box

Checking my computer and ive got

C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb

C:\Program Files (x86)\AppInventor\commands-for-Appinventor\adb

Conflict maybe ?

Same setup here, except 32-bit Windows 7 and Processing 0194 and no AppInventor and a Nexus One for the device, and same problem. Renaming one of my AVDs to Processing-Android-7 as suggested fixed it, though. Thanks!

The problem with the emulator isn't to do with your two versions of abd.
It's in the bug database as a known issue (Issue 590). Basically, Processing runs a script from the Android SDK to create an AVD called 'Processing-Android-7' (if it doesn't already exist), and waits for that script to finish. Google recently changed the way the script worked - it now asks a question. So the script is waiting for a response, and Processing doesn't know it needs to reply, so they both just sit there.

The workaround is to use the SDK Manager to create the AVD yourself, and make sure that it's called 'Processing-Android-7'.
The AVD that Processing is trying to create defaults to an SD card size of 64MB and uses the built-in WVGA800 skin. As others have commented, you could also rename an existing AVD.

The emulator problem shouldn't be preventing you from running things on your phone, though.

Thanks this worked a treat - it fixed the entire problem of the emulator - i also added as advised by either ben or casey to add into my system variables a classpath to the android sdk and another to the jdk and then it built fine on my fine also!!

Just for others looking

Call your Android Virtual Device Processing-Android-7 exactly liek that and youll be ok - making sure it is a 2.1 api level7 one
