Why don't I get 100 results in Twitter4j Search?

I would like to retrieve 100 most popular tweets for a particular querystring, below is my query:

but it always gives 15 results :(

try {
Query query = new Query().query(queryString);
query.setResultType(Query.POPULAR);
query.setCount(100); //I tried query.count(100) it doesn't work either
QueryResult result = twitterSearch.search(query);
for (Status status : result.getTweets()) {
SearchResults.add(status);
}
println(SearchResults.size());
}
catch (TwitterException te) {
print(te);
}

But each time I get only 15 tweets. Can someone help please?

At one time, the Twitter API limited the number of requests per unit of time, perhaps they have still such limit, and others, to reduce the amount of automated traffic. Somebody knowing the API better than me (that's easy!) can confirm or give a more accurate answer.

You know what? If I remove the following line, it returns 100 results:

query.setResultType(Query.POPULAR);

I hope someone has a solution to this

Isn't it not query.setCount() but query.setRpp() // results per page?

Query query = new Query("#audio");
query.setRpp(100);
//Try making the query request.
try {
QueryResult result = twitter.search(query);
ArrayList tweets = (ArrayList) result.getTweets();
...

I am not an expert on twitter API, so take this suggestion as a blind guess ;)

Actually looks like my suggestion was using some old API. The current version of Query ( javadoc) doesn't even have .setRpp() method.

However if I look at the latest Limits :

https://dev.twitter.com/docs/rate-limiting/1.1/limits

number 15 is used there very frequently. Maybe when you're doing this POPULAR search you call not to search API but to trends or smth, which seems to be limited to 15...

Perhaps you are right dimkir. I think it picks up only fifteen tweets when the result type is set to POPULAR. For the time being, I am using its default mode - MIXED
