Hi!

Which is better for Android development? Processing or OF?

Which is lighter weight for the system, which would be less battery consumer...
It is going to be an app that has to be "on" 24/7, in system background...

Between these two frameworks, what are the pros and cons, for android development in particularly

In this case, neither...

both oF and P5 run their Android applications as 'Activities', which is a foreground process, not a background process...

unless you are willing to spend a lot of time digging into the build process and authoring out a branch of one or both of these frameworks, you will have to use straight Java / Android SDK ...

Besides that issue, I would say that Processing is definitely better for Android dev in general, and in your case as well - because it is Java, you can mix native SDK calls to acquire sensors, event listeners, etc...

So, it ends up being optimized better by the Dalvik Virtual Machine, and you can directly access/change things like screen brightness, etc (so can def. be better on the battery, etc)...
