I have created a GUI in processing as my prototype. I presented it to management and asked for more money to further develop the product. Since I did this under the radar, I used processing and arduino to create all my programming. Back in college we were trained with Matlab, but I know that program is expensive.

My goal is to write the code to be an executable program, rather than open processing and running the program. Like I said, my detailed experience with processing is limited, but my impression was this was more of a starter program. I was curious if there are others out there that have been in a similar position as I, and have recommendations of a stronger, less limited GUI developing software.

I need to to communicate via serial, as well as be an executable driver. Other than that, its pretty basic.

Random other question: The other feature that I haven't been able to find is if Processing can handle a browse script, can that also be done? Rather than automatically load from the data folder, I would like to also lookup a file. As I said this was a prototype version, I haven't dug too deep. Can that be done as well?
