But to get anyone new to povray started I've included a few example templates such as sunsky (default/original), simple, cornell box, and chequered foreground. All these templates have been written to make use of the povray radiosity feature ( special stochastic global illumination calculation). As this is expensive it is not used at lower resolutions. You can also easily set the quality level, useful for preview.

For a given resolution I think povray is quicker than sunflow, povray-3.7 is multi-threaded so the more cores the better.
