Webcam Help

Hello everyone. I'm having a bit of a struggle with a program that I would like to post on my website.

The program runs just fine on computers that have a built in camera, but I would also like to try and write a few lines of code that will display an error message if the user visiting the website doesn't have a camera on their computer.

Can anyone help me please?

If you look at the example (Examples > Library > Video (Capture) > GettingStartedCapture) you'll see this:

void draw() {
if (cam.available() == true) {
cam.read();
image(cam, 160, 100);
}
}

So on draw, when there is a camera available, it will show the image. If you use an else here, you can show something else:

void draw() {
if (cam.available() == true) {
cam.read();
image(cam, 160, 100);
}else{
//do something to tell there is no camera
}
}

A better option would be to check in advance:

String[] devices = Capture.list();

This returns a list of camera devices. You can see if there are devices present by checking the length of this array.
