Video Capture... Wifi webcam problems,

Hello,

Is there any way to take the capture stream from an IP address or website? (Same thing rite?)

Was trying to rig a wifi webcam to to image processing on a computer, then radio the info back to a robot.

The problem is I can't find good documentation on HOW the capture function works,
Wifi webcams will present to the Router only, as an IP address,

Not as a serial/COM line in from USB (Which is how most of the other processing peripherals get in)

(haven't bought the webcam yet)

I think it's possible, as not much ppl have the opportunity to play with such devices is not easy to provide you much information.

Such devices provide either a video stream or cam snapshots that can be accessed through an URL. So i'm pretty sure you can fetch these streams from processing (like loading image from a webserver).

Sounds like an option for the REST protocol here.
Have you any idea of the kind of device you'd like to buy ?
We could have a look at the documentation and specification to get more information.
