Using the Launchpad Library - UnsupportedClassVersionError

Hi folks,

I tried searching the forum on this but couldn't find any discussions, I apologise if it's been mentioned before.

I'm playing around with the Launchpad library but am getting the following error, does anyone have a solution?

This version of Processing only supports libraries and JAR files compiled for Java 1.5.

A library used by this sketch was compiled for Java 1.6 or later,

and needs to be recompiled to be compatible with Java 1.5.

I think you need to give more information about your environment... and what is the Launchpad library (and perhaps what you try to do).

guess the talks about Ableton live midi-controller, LaunchPad.

Sorry folks didn't give much info, I'm using the launchpad library - http://rngtng.github.com/launchpad/

My environment is Processing 1.2.1 on a powerbook running OSX 10.5.8

It happens when I try and run any of the examples in the launchpad library.

I don't know what version of Java is shipped with Processing. Perhaps try to locate or install Java 1.6 on your Mac and use it with Processing? Mac users might give more precise advices, the forum might have some answers too.

Thanks phi.lho, looked at the Java release notes and it says that 1.6 only works on 64-bit Intel Macs, my mac is a Power PC G4.

Looks like I have another reason to upgrade.
