hi everyone!

I saw this example on the internet and i want to use it. Could somebody tell me more about this? I don't understand why i have to give in cols etc?

Or is there someone who has a better way to sort all the pixels in different ways?
It must be visual, not in text. I couldn't get a good example of this.

Those snippets are ancient and not very stable (can produce broken results). Meanwhile I've developed this into a much more comprehensive colour module of my library collection and you can easily sort colours in any way possible now:

Here's a list of sort functions:

The more interesting versions are:

sortByCriteria() - which provides you with a number of predefined sort criteria. I.e. you can sort by: hue, brightness, luminance, saturation or intensities of red,green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow, black, alpha

sortByComparator() provides you with even more flexibility and allows you to write your own (more complex) sort criteria, all using the standard Java Comparator pattern/mechanism

Finally sortByProximityTo() can sort colours based on their distance to a given target colour (btw. the TColor class at the heart of this library works in parallel in RGB, HSV and CMYK spaces and you can specify a colour using any of them). There's also a class called NamedColor , which provides around 140 preset colours:
