UDP Mulitcast Receiving

Has anyone tried receiving UDP packets on multicast. When I try listening to the broadcast UDP packets from another device, I get the following error.

Library used: UDP

opening socket failed!

> address:224.0.0.1, port:50000 [group:null]

> error setting options

You will have to use MulticastSocket and not just UDP.

Thank you for your reply. But I am still stuck with the same problem. However, I have concluded that the issue is isolated for a specific address 224.0.0.1, which I am thinking is reserved by the OS. Because it works perfectly fine for 224.0.0.2 and above. The example you linked seems to have the same problem, I have responded to the the link posted by zobyman. Thoughts?

I just confirmed that this is a Windows 7 issue! I exported my sketch as an application and ran it on a Windows XP pc and it works perfectly fine.

Windows 7 does not allow you to open 224.0.0.1, an easy way to check this is to go to command prompt and type tracert 224.0.0.1 and if you get the error 1232, then multicast will not work!
