the idea of a c++ version of Processing intrigued me a lot yesterday when I read your post, so I went soon to have a look to the project. It has quite few dependencies but the thing that made me spend the night on it was that these dependencies are not included in the project download. I had to download DirectX SDK (1.2 Gb), Boost(1Gb) , FreeImage and God knows what others libraries are needed, or maybe your colleague knows it( he has to ). In the end I managed to compile ucl.lib which should be the library needed to write P5 code in c++ environment, but I did it tricking the compiler, hoping that I could at least try some of the example, but it didn't work. Two library that I couldn't find in any corner of the web where FreeImaged.lib( no is not misspelled ) and  libexpatMT_d.lib. I only found libexpatMT.lib but it was in the external dependencies of a project so I couldn't get to the font of it.
If you could get same more information from your colleague it would be great, and than , maybe, we would have Processing++.

You probably know that already, but I guess the files ending with d.lib are debug libraries, so the non-debug versions should work in place of them, or you should be able to recreate them.
expat is an XML library written in C. libexpatMT_d might be the library for expat compiled with mutithreaded option (in Visual Studio compiler) and debug.

.lib files are called static library and are used on Windows. They contain  a bunch of pre-compiled object ( usually headers ), which are linked together, ready to be called from code as soon you compile them in to a .lib file, indeed. They are the final product of a specific project ( like DLL library) . To create one you should have either the code and all the other things they are made of ( a .lib can contain image, movie, text ) or even better the FileName.vcproj ( VisualC project file ) for that library.

Anyway I found the code to compile FreeImaged.lib, but still not working. Please anybody interested help to find libexpatMT_D or libexpatMT_D.vcprj.

 the external dependencies are all it's needed to compile the ucf lib, I think.
I hope  can let know same thing to the community soon.

this stuff is over my head, but I'm excited by the possibilities...

We plan to make a university-project for porting processing to c++. My idea is to keep it platform-independent as far as possible. Therefore, we could implement it as a layer on top of SDL or another platform-independent library.
