Transparent window with solid graphics

Hi all,

Here I am putting a screenshot of a transparent window application. I know how to create transparent window in processing.I have a code and when I run the code, the graphics inside the window like circle and rectangle are also become transparent with the window. So can anyone tell me how to keep the graphics element solid?

I have read somewhere if we set transparency per pixel then it may possible to do that but I dont know how ?

Help me !!

but Sorry this is not what I want as I mentioned that I want graphics with solid colors and 100% transparent background. Anyway I got it some how worked thanks :).

And Please don't mind I don't understand that ,CAPS LOCK thing what is the problem in typing in caps lock. I just typed because in caps because it the heading of mypost and I think it is the universal format. Seriously I have seen this CAPS LOCK thing in so many forums, they always say do not use caps lock and it is really annoying me and what is the problem if I want to catch the attention of some good coder who can help me

Again, like I said I got it worked but I don't understand why my program window is flickering and it is not detecting any keypressed event where as it detects mousePressed event. And graphics is also not smooth, I think it because it is using P3D render.

Please help me here is my code ...

Basically, it is the same problem than if you are in a crowd, waiting for some distribution of something.
Don't you think people around you will be annoyed if you start jumping, yelling "me first, me first!" as soon as the distribution starts?

If there is a consensus, why you don't follow the advice?

That's exactly what the sketch does. Just change the transparency of the background call to 0.
You can also comment out the lines drawing the gradient and the rectangle.

Flickering / not smooth: might be related to your video card / its driver.
When I drag my sketch (possible only over fully opaque parts), it doesn't flicker, and the border of the circle is anti-aliased.

Hi PhiLho ,

Have you tried running my code? I have Nvidia GeForce Go7400 graphics card in my Hp dv6000. Is it enough for my code? I have also tried my application on other high end graphics card supported system ans till the flickering and smoothness problem Please help me .....

Mmm, on my computer with a rather low end graphics card, I don't see really "flickering". But I saw, sometime, the central circle to disappear for a second.
The image isn't smooth because you use P3D, for some unknown reason. I used JAVA2D instead, the sketch worked as well and was anti-aliased.

PhiLo, I have same problem,central circle disappear for a second. Can you tell me why is this happening ? How to solve it ?

I fear it is a problem with Java itself, and the way it manages frameless windows on our system.
It is hard to tell more.

Side note: it might be an issue of synchronization of Java AWT display and real screen frames (not sure if that's still true with non-cathodic screen, though). It might be interesting to play a bit with the frame rate, if that's still a worry for you.

Hi PhiLho,

Sorry to bothering you again but I had to ask .. So when you told me to include JAVA2D instead of P3D render in my code then I replaced it and it was working great but when I import the application (via processing 2.0.b) for windows and tried running *.exe file on the system it came back to bad graphics

. I dont what is happening when I run the sketch it works fine but with the application *.exe it doesn't. can you tell me what to do ?

I fear I have no idea why this happens... Double-check you use the latest exported files, perhaps?
