text field - but not with springGUI and not with controlP5

Which possibilities do I have to use a text field without using springGUI or controlP5.

I work with napplets and it isn't possible to use controlP5 because the buttons are always opened in the main frame and not in the sub-frames.

and it isn't possible to use springGUI because with that, the void keyPressed doesn't work any more..

so what can I do?

At Libraries > Graphic Interface, I see two other alternatives...
I thought SpringGUI was obsoleted. Is it still working in normal sketches?

the following probably only partially helps - does the job for the buttons, but keyPressed events seem to be called twice instead of once in a windowed NApplet. happens for the 'native' keyPressed() as well. instead of instantiating controlP5 from your main sketch, do so in your windowedNApplet, example:

an alternative could be to use a controlWindow in addition to your NApplets, or follow phi.lho's link. (i think i have seen a stand alone textinput example in the old forum but cant recall where).
