dear processing community,

after many hours searching for a solution I am still stuck with this problem:
I have a pc which is connected to a CNCrouter. Basically I want to remote control the CNCmachine through processing and linuxCNC offers a Telnet client to do so. When i connect to this pc via a second Computer (macOSX) through the integrated TelNetClient (terminal) it works perfectly fine.
My problem is that i have no idea how to setup an Telnet client in processing. I´ve tried the processing.net lib. but it didn`t work at all. Does anybody know how to do this.? or is there perhaps an program, which acts as a middleman, to which I can send telnet commands over TCP and it sends them out over the telnet protocol??

I suppose that when you connect through you TelNetClient you can send commands and as well receive some values from the server?

If that's the case then most likely you have problems because you don't read data (and clean buffer) from server, but just write write write. Thus blocking your output. Show us what you have made so far with processing.net libraries?

Basically I opened the telnet server on the linuxCNC pc and set the port on the client to 23.

myClient = new Client(this, "linuxCNC ip adress", 23);

but all I`ve got was ava.net.ConnectException: Connection refused .

It looks like you're java cannot connect to the ip address you use? (it seems error is more java/linux related or firewall related than processing).

Which IP addresses do you use? Are you sure the port is opened? Are you trying on the same machine? Is there any firewall in effect?

Can you run any of the standard processing network-library examples?
