strange results from Capture.list()

No matter what I have connected to the computer, even if I change all the webcams connected to something else, I always get this from Capture.list():
[0] "DV Video"
[1] "IIDC FireWire Video"
[2] "USB Video Class Video"
This is true if I have 1 webcam plugged in or 3. It's true if I swap from a logitech to a creative, to a macally to monitor cam, etc.
Any ideas?
I'm trying to get > 3 cameras working with Processing. I'll detail other attempts in another post.
