Or to be exact, it take looong time to load with a black screen, then became gray and take time to show the circles and the menu, I can hear some sound but when i try to interact it doesn't do nothing but after a while the circle I supposed to move starts moving slowly, if then i try to lower the volume it blocks so that I have to throw away the battery to stop it... :(

It sounds like a pretty big issue, my best guess at the moment is that my app consumes too much cpu. Even if it looks pretty simple it's in fact quite intensive.

So I guess it just asks too much to the phone which freezes. I don't have time to work on it right now, but I've had this kind of issues reported on "older" phones. I have a legend at home which does the same thing.

My plan is to make another version with less springs for these kind of phones, or maybe let the user choose how many springs he wants at start up.

I guess I'll use this thread to repost an anouncement for the new version.

Works great on my Asus Transformer... though sometimes the audio doesn't stop until I re-open and exit the app again.

On my HTC One X, the framerate is glacial, so the audio just comes out distorted... 

I'm begining to wonder if I've got a problem related to htc phones, cause actually it doesn't work properly on any htc phones.

HTC legend, Sensation, Wildfire S and now HTC One X... the one X is a recent phone with a very decent gpu and cpu so I can't blame the phone's performances. Sensation is pretty good too and it should work I guess. Well hard to tell ...

Concerning the audio : the menu button will let the app run on background, the back button should close the app and stop the audio.

For the code I will be happy  to share what I've done. I just need some time to clean up and comment and put it up somewhere. You'll need to work with Eclipse though but it's not that hard (as I had never used Eclipse before starting developping this app, it's a bit frightening at first but after that it's actually pretty nice).

We could open a new thread to start discuss that if you want. There's a few stuff tips and tricks to now along the installation to have everything to work : for instance you need to install at leats google's api 7 and then the one you actually want to developp for.

thanks for your interest. Actually the code I have is currently broken, I could rewrite it to work with the new version of pdlib, but I'm actually waiting for the release of the Pure-Data library for processing. When it's ready I'll probably work on examples and tutorials

Concerning MT and polyphony there isn't much to say actually. There is a fixed number of voices in this app, one per spring. Each voice is made of an oscilator tuned to a certain rate, and the two effects a distortion, and a reverb. So when you interact with the spring you just change the volume of the voice.

So the patch is basically a bunch of tuned oscillators, that receives control messages from processing, the Y displacement of each spring controls the volume of an oscilator, the gui sends control data for effects and such.
