Looked for examples of using serial port data to build a spectrum analyser without success. We are using Arduino and an analog to read muscle sensors and wish to read the spectrum of the frequencies output.

any clues?

Oh hi,

I am using the serial port (USB with FTDI) to talk to Arduino. Are you just looking for examples of using the serial port? My Arduino is connected to analog sensors for reading voltage and current on a solar panel. I read those values in from the serial port in Processing. In my example I write the values to a file. Would you like me to post the code? I can post later tonight if you want.

Thanks, but I'm looking for FFT (fast forier transforms) code using the data from the serial port. FFT can be use as a spectrum analazyer to break down any hidden frequencies that are in your analog signal. The only examples in processing that I can find is using the sound input which is no good to me.

have you solved it?

Because I would do a frequency analysis on an ECG signal sampled on my arduino board and send it to my processin g sketch....

I sampled at 200 Hz....the only examples that I have found are on audio input or audio trace....

How can I do that on an array float that contains my ecg samples?
