I am an artist and designer with very limited programming skills in processing language. I am working on a project which currently works on the basis of generic sound detection. But since the project has its importance to a particular sound, I needed to detect a particular gibberish word or a pattern of sound. Though I tried using open-source cross platform speech recognition java library called spinix-4, but I couldn't crack it through to detect a pattern of sound rather than a word from a regular dictionary.  Is there any library that is capable of doing this task? Can FFT ( Fast Fourier Transform) be of any help here?

Any help/suggestion regarding this would be appreciated.
