Sketches run on phone but not in emulator

I've just installed the Android SDK, but when I try and run a sketch on the emulator the emulator launches, but the sketch never appears. The PDE stays on "Waiting for device to become available" and nothing happens. Running the same sketch using "Run on device" works, and the sketch launches on the phone.

Anyone got any ideas for this? Processing 1.5.1, Win7 64 bit with 64 bit JDK.

What's the emulator called?
I know that the name of the emulator has been the problem for some people, but it could be something else as well.

Hi,

It shows in the SDK manager as "Processing-0197".

edit to add: if I leave it for long enough the PDE eventually gives a "Device killed or disconnected" error.

Yeah- that's the right name.
That "device killed or disconnected" will occur when the search finally times out.
I've got no idea. I'll get back to you if I think of something.

I had the same problem on mac.
Every thing was ok after I install the android compatibility package

I already had that installed- re-downloaded it but no joy.

I'll probably try un- and re-installing the whole SDK but that's a job for tomorrow I think.

edit to add: just tested with Processing 0198 pre-release with the same result.

Got it to work! The main thing seemed to be selecting Android->reset connections from the PDE, although I did wipe the SDK and did a fresh install of it with just the components that Processing requires.
