Signing the APK, the eazy way

Ok , after a sleepless night of browsing the webs, it was proving to be dificult for me to sign my apk, as i am near useless using the CMD tool.

I managed to use ant to build my unsigned apk.

then i used this magic tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125626.

and in 5 minutes it was signed with my key.

I hope this helps someone out there.

these are the steps i always use for compiling.

C:\Desktop\<appname>\android>ant release <---- you need the ant tool setup properly (google it!).

C:\Desktop\<sketchname>\android>jarsigner -verbose -keystore your-release-key.keystore <--- same

cd C:\Users\TSU\Desktop\<appname>\android\bin\

C:\Users\TSU\Desktop\<appname>\android\bin\yourapp-unsigned.apk yournicknameorkeyword <---- shoulda decided that when setting up your key.

cd C:\Users\TSU\Desktop\<appname>\android\

C:\Desktop\<sketchname>\android>jarsigner -verify C:\Users\TSU\Desktop\<appname>\android\bin\appname-unsigned.apk <--- verify the application has been signed correctly.

C:\Desktop\<appname>\android>zipalign -v 4 C:\Users\TSU\Desktop\<appname>\android\bin\appname-unsigned.apk appname.apk

pre-requisites:

- a key that you have created. (check the tools folder and google to figure out which tool you need to create one!).

- jarsigner working (just need to make sure you have your JDK installed correctly; again google is your friend if you get any troubles).

- ant working (more googling).
