How would i make an indicator that serial is received, like a rect() that changes between red and green? I understand that serial data is transferred so quick that the color change would be unnoticeable, so there would need to be a >1 second hold on the color switch. Has anyone did this before? Any examples?

How would i get the Rect to fade from red to green? I found this code (example below), that will fade out the entire screen, but id like it to just effect the rect. Thanks.

Just change a bit the fill color on each frame.
