Hi, i was wondering which sensor do i need to get data from a plant into arduino to send to a processing app.

Do anybody have tried getting data from plants?

Ive found this web site, and i was wondering which sensor are they using for getting data from plants.
here is the link:  http://www.floranium.com/

cheers

Wow, that's weird and creepy. Also a bit of bunk as far as plant mood goes. Looks like it just measures electrical conductivity, like a polygraph on your skin. This is directly from their site:
The FLORANIUM lamp uses electrodes for measuring these signals. A ground probe is inserted into the plant's soil and an electrode is connected directly to the plant's leaf using a special adhesive paste.

The chemical reaction which takes place at this junction causes an electron flow to occur. The electron flow is measured with a very sensitive bio-signal amplifier. The amplifier is connected to a micro-controller which processes the plant's bio-signal and converts it into a colorful LED display for viewing.

I would guess the magic past is nothing more than plain old conductive paste. I'd bet you could do this with any skin sensor from standard medical equipment, but it will likely take some tweaking. You could try rigging up something yourself with electrode made from small piece of copper wire stuck into a stalk (and one into the dirt), then try some of the sensing routines, like touch sensor, R/C timing, voltage sense with amp, etc. Might be fun!
