save in .mov or .mpeg files

I created an animation with an object, I want about the first 30 seconds of it to be saved as a .mov

the only other way I can think of is a screencasting software.

Any ways to export a certain amount of seconds of the animation to an .mov?

What OS does ur computer run? If Win, the Window Movie Maker enables you to convert the animation to an .mov i guess. In addition, if you want to digitalize your DVD's, here is a tutorial of DVD to MOV on Mac .
