Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and Windows XP

Hi Guys,

Originally I set up my Android development with Galaxy Note 10.1 on my desktop that runs Windows 7. It was a breeze to set up just have to read the Android Processing Wiki carefully. However, moving the development environment to Window XP on my other machine with the exact steps, software, and drivers, has been a nightmare so far. I simply can't get Windows XP to recognize Galaxy Note 10.1. I got it to show up as an unknown device in the hardware manager, but none of the drivers (inc. the verizon one from Samsung website and Kies) worked...

Does anyone know a driver that works? Or is it just impossible to develop with Note 10.1 on Windows XP? I read it somewhere that Galaxy Note 10.1 only works on Windows 7, can anyone confirm this!?

I had a lot of problems getting the emulator running because I installed on D:

I can't get processing to run on device. I've tried on the note 10.1 and the S3. I can access my devices in windows but when I run on device from processing I just get:

Waiting for device to become available..

after awhile it gives up

USB debugging is on.

Did you have to get any special drivers for the Samsung devices?

You need an OEM USB Driver for SAMSUNG, and you can find the link here:
http://developer.android.com/tools/extras/oem-usb.html#Drivers

"The Galaxy Nexus driver, however, is distributed by Samsung (listed as model SCH-I515)."

You need this driver. After hours of hitting walls. this driver saved my day, and yes it works with Galaxy tablet 10 and phone too.

Just to show it is possible and working, I was able to make all the game apps you see in this video with Samsung last year:

Nice links, I got it fired up on the 10.1 woot!

Great video nice apps. I do 3D graphics for games and VFX and I've had an idea for awhile that I think processing can let me achieve. So I'm stoked to get this working.

Were you using the kinect for that projected app? Is that easy to set up in processing?
