rwmidi Controller class conflicts with ControlP5

hi forum,

i am having some problems with running rwmidi and controlP5 together -- they both have a Controller class, so when trying to read midi controllers with rwmidi while running controlP5 i get an:

"the type Controller is ambigious" error

is there a way to redefine the name of one of the Controller classes?

(i suppose editing the source of one of the libraries and then recompiling it all, i tried this in Eclipse now, but i dont really know the program and i have trouble even compiling. grrr.)

btw. my Eclipse error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problem:

at RWMidi.main( RWMidi.java:142 )

i didn't change anything, in main (only the name of the Controller class to MidiController, and all the definition names in that class) so i am guessing something is wrong with my Eclipse setup?

You can solve the ambiguity by using fully qualified names. That's what people must do when using XMLElement from proXML, for example.
Or, if you do include java.awt.*; and want to use java.util.List, you have to use this idiom (eg. java.util.List l = new ArrayList()) to distinguish it from java.awt.List component.
That's the interest of packages, to avoid cleanly name collisions.

Note: since you use Eclipse, you can do separate classes to handle controlP5 stuff and RWMidi stuff: they probably don't have to be mixed in the same class, no? You can enforce the separation with accessors and such. So if you import only one of the libraries, there is no ambiguity and no need for fully qualified names.
