robot.mouseMove does not work?

Hello

according to http://wiki.processing.org/w/Robot_class should this code move the mouse to an initial position:

import java.awt.AWTException;

import java.awt.Robot;

Robot robot;

void setup() {

size(400, 400);

try {

robot = new Robot();

}

catch (AWTException e) {

e.printStackTrace();

}

robot.mouseMove(displayWidth/2, displayHeight/2);

}

void draw() {

//println(frameCount);

background(0);

stroke(255,0,0);

ellipse(mouseX,mouseY,100,100);

}

But mouseX and mouseY stay at 0,0.

Any idea whats wrong?

You don't need a robot mouse to do that...

Your robot.mouseMove is on setup() the mouse move only one time.

Second you try to draw an ellipse outside the drawing area if the processing wind is not on the center of your screen.

Try this :

Robot robot;
void setup() {
size(400, 400);
try {
robot = new Robot();
}
catch (AWTException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
void draw() {
background(255);
robot.mouseMove(getLocationOnScreen().x + width / 2, getLocationOnScreen().y + height / 2);
ellipse(mouseX, mouseY, 20, 20);
}

The way its written, the Robot does move the mouse to the center of the screen once at the beginning of the sketch when setup is called. If the sketch window isn't approximately in the center of the screen the mouse will be outside the window and not change mouseX and mouseY.
