CASH REWARD - PubNub Cloud data pushing API ?

Hi All,

I love playing with Corona sdk on the iphone and processing and have been fantasizing over a bridge to communicate between the 2.

Sending accelerometer and touch data to processing sketches would be so awesome - Pubnub seems a great way to achieve this. http://www.pubnub.com/

I'm not familiar with creating custom libraries. How complicated would it be to get this API working with processing?

Is it as simple as dropping the files into my sketch?

I is already up and ready for JAVA so I'm hoping it can be done without too much effort.

Any pointers would be very welcome!

I failed to understand the interest of PubNut from their home page (didn't went beyond, didn't tried hard)...
Anyway, when I see Processing and iPhone in the same sentence, I am a bit dubious, as, to my knowledge, Java isn't allowed on the Apple mobile device. There are solutions emulating Processing, but then you have to target one, and a Processing library probably won't help here.
I can be wrong as I am not specialist of iOS, far from it. Search the forum for threads on the topic.

I'm not trying to do any processing/java stuff on the iphone. I want to use processing as a midi gateway, transmitting bursts of data from pc to iphone using PubNub packets.

The iphone side of pubnub isn't java at all. it's coded in Lua and works great for sending/receiving real time multiplayer coordinates etc.

Corona SDK currently has no support for midi nor touchOSC but Pubnub could be the solution to that.

I got a iphone/processing TCP socket working but it was too slow, but people have been able to stream audio through pubnub.

Aha, all things click in place now... :-)
Yes, Lua on iPhone is nice, and then you use this push technology to stream data from Processing to the phone (an back). Interesting project.

You may try yourself installing a Node.js server and running PeerBind. This way you'll have a shared communication layer in a very comfortable event-driven architecture based on Javascript. Add HTML5 (+ jQuery maybe) and ProcessingJS and you can create appealing cross platform application. :-)

@ phi.Iho Interesting project is an understatement

I can think of 1000 uses for a ipad/processing protocol.

It will open so many doors

Thanks for the tip, my concern is that it will be hard to integrate PeerBind into an lua iphone project as opposed to pubnub which is already a Corona SDK built in feature.

so how do I go by running .java files in a processing sketch? I haven't a clue what goes on under the hood of processing. I just take the magic for granted :)
