ProcessingJS XML Parsing

Well...I'm wondering if there's any chance I can parse an XML via ProcessingJS..I mean, I know this isn't possible (unless the XML is in the data folder) but do you think is there any hack to do that ?

Maybe with JavaScript Help..I really have no Idea...thanks ;)

PS = Let's say this XML is somwhere in the web...

Hey

You can parse xml via ProcessingJS just fine.

It's just like the Processing you are used to.

"somwhere in the web" won't work, you can load XML (or other data) only from the server hosting the page with PJS.

Have you considered using ajax to load the XML from an external source, then passing that xml object into processing?

Just remember that if you're loading the data from string, using your own AJAX request for an XML file from anywhere, you have to use the correct XMLElement parsing method:

1) XMLElement myxml = new XMLElement("url/for/your/file.xml");

2) XMLElement myxml = XMLElement.parse("<xml>This<is>My</is>File</xml>");

The downside of this workaround is that it needs a server-side script, which isn't possible in most sites hosting ProcessingJS scripts... But it is still good to know there are solutions, of course.
